I uploaded this here to show off the cave background that I'm very pleased with. It was done by Dewitty. I wanted something that matched the 3Dish style space of the default battle field (check my submissions for that example). I was nervous about asking him as I didn't know if he wanted to try battle backgrounds, but I think he did a fantastic job. I added it to the game and it looks fantastic on the device.
Any ways, the usual links below. This is from a game called I developed called ZENFORMS: Protectors. A 2D RPG for the iPhone/iPod and soon to be iPad (with an update that is in development). You can download the game here: [link] Official Facebook: [link] Official Twitter: [link] Forum: [link]
Note: This screenshot is taken from a massive content update that has been in development for at least 4 months. The UI is different from the version which is currently on the app store. The update will bring many improvements, and if you have the game or would just like to know more about the update (what is coming and so on) check it out here: [link]
wow owo the battle GUI looks so clearer Not sure if you've talked about this but would you be able to skip the opening battle animation ? owo (when you call out your zenform)
The battle background and overall system is great! Question: do you think you'll be adding dynamic sprites in the future battle system? (kinda like B/W/2 does with theirs)
As for animated sprites, no most likely not. The reason is because the artist I use for the ZENFORMS is hard to get (I like using the same artist for all the sprites so they match). I believe he is a student. He already has the ZENFORMS done, but adding animations would take a lot of time for each ZENFORM. The cost of getting that done would also be a factor.
I have thought of, and even messed around with an animation program (like Spine: [link]). You break up the sprites into body parts an animate in there, but it would be too time consuming for me to do for every ZENFORM while also developing the game.
I'm like eating it, but with my eyes. Hahaha! Enough weirdness for today.

No skipping, but it's slightly sped up since Version 1.0.
